2020-2021 State Theme:
Solve the Leadership Puzzle

Solve the Leadership Puzzl

The 2020 – 2021 District Representatives have chosen the new IAJHSC state theme for the coming year. Meeting several times over Zoom and working together through group chats, the District Representatives developed twenty-two different theme choices using brainstorming techniques and the “keep” or “scratch” method of narrowing those choice down. Following the selection of “Solve the Leadership Puzzle,” they used the same techniques to choose the final logo from five graphic choices they collectively submitted.

The logo was developed by using the ideas that it represents the leadership characteristics and values of perseverance, dedication, cooperation, good judgment, optimism, and being goal oriented and dependable. The District Representatives thought that all these traits and skills were necessary to complete a puzzle as well as to become a great leader. They will be sharing those thoughts more thoroughly with everyone throughout the coming year and hopefully, at convention in April of 2021.

IAJHSC Raises More Than $21,000 for Make-A-Wish® Illinois, our 2019-2020 IAJHSC State Service Project

Make-A-Wish Illinois

The IAJHSC is so incredibly pleased to announce that due to the amazing efforts of our membership we have raised a tremendous amount of money for the State Service Project this year. The donation amount was more than the past several years! We had over 50 member schools participate and so many of them shared pictures of their workshops where they came together to celebrate and even make care packages for kids! Our hearts were warmed time and time again! Your generous gifts will be a blessing to so many lives of kids right here in Illinois! So, drum roll please…the IAJHSC raised $21,097.07 for Make-A-Wish Illinois! Congratulations and our deepest thank you for all you have done!

From the Executive Director

So What’s Next?

July 3rd, 2020  |  Posted by admin

Greetings, Fellow Covid Captives!

First and foremost, I sincerely hope all of you are surviving the challenges of our new daily and ever-changing routines and procedures as dictated by this horrible pandemic due to the coronavirus. The Executive Board and I heartily encourage you to practice your leadership skills, set the example, and keep a positive attitude as we all tackle this new normal in our lives and the lives of those we lead. Masks, hand sanitizer, and washing your hands are such small things to do in order protect the people you love, cherish, and lead! Success will only be found when everyone works together to keep everyone else safe.

As you know, the IAJSHC Executive Board had to cancel the Annual IAJHSC State Convention and the IAJHSC Summer Leadership Camp for health and safety reasons. We were as disappointed as all of you must have been, but there is nothing we do more important than the safety of our members.
