Leadership S.O.S. – Shaping Our Success in 2023-2024!

The 2023-2024 District Representatives have chosen the IAJHSC state theme for the coming year: Leadership S.O.S. – Shaping Our Success. Just as a life preserver ensures buoyancy amidst turbulent waters, a strong leader provides stability and direction in the face of challenges—helping shape the success for others.

Statewide Events

Annual State Convention

Over 1,000 delegates from member schools across the state gather to celebrate leadership. Keynoted by nationally known speakers, the convention provides the opportunity for recognition of a great past year and a real "energizer" for the coming year. Project posters and scrapbooks from across the state provide a wealth of ideas for delegates to take back home with them!

Summer Leadership Camp

This week-long camp in the summer teaches your council members the skills necessary to run an effective council and become effective leaders.

District Leadership Workshops

These regional workshops, typically held in the fall and winter, provide quality leadership training for students and allow for the sharing of ideas and projects. A forum for adult advisors is provided as well. Which IAJHSC district are you in?

Service & Civic Engagement

State Service Project

The State Service Project is a shared enterprise among our member schools. A charity or non-profit service group that serves the needs of children in some special way throughout the state of Illinois is chosen each year by the Executive Board and funds are raised by the member Student Councils to contribute to the cause.

Honor Council Award Progam

The Honor Council award is a recognition program for councils who meet high standards in leadership, citizenship, scholarship, school service, community service and school spirit.

Membership in the IAJHSC is by school and runs $75/year.
